The Day Before Radiation

Today’s the day before we start radiation.

The last day my husband can allow the sun to shine on his stomach until the treatments are over.

The last day before the first day of a new way.

These are my thoughts as we work from the beach and I sip iced-coffee and look over and admire him beside me.

Grateful for this moment and this day and for living only steps away from the ocean so that we can easily access the tranquility.

The inspiration.

The beauty and the healing of having our toes in the sand and the waves at our feet.

I know there are many people who go through this and never talk about it but I am not one of those people.

It is at the forefront of my mind every single day.

We are in this together, it affects both of us, and we have sooo much to be thankful for

We do have tears, and we also have laughter, fun, and joy … neither one cancels out or betrays the other, it’s just the reality and the duality of this beautiful life.

Tomorrow we start a new chapter of this journey

and although we are unsure of how it will look and feel,

we are sure of one thing

and that is the power of faith, hope, and love.

As I told Kevin after laying my head on his chest:

Tomorrow’s a big day but our love is bigger.

Source is bigger.

God is bigger.

Thank you to every soul who continues to connect with us, check in, encourage us, and pray for my husband. If you were to see him you would never guess he has been through anything this year or that he is still going through it, but he is.

He just still looks amazing, he is strong, and his smile is still lighting up the world everywhere we go.

Sending love to everyone

and hugs if you need them for whatever your journey is bringing you through at this time.
