How Are You Showing Up?

How are you showing up? Jacqueline O'Leary Heart Times Cafe.jpg

With social media and the internet being what they are today, it’s easy to make things look like something they’re not,

so people will look at you the way you want them to,

and it deceives people into thinking they can hide what they don’t want anyone to see,

so that people won’t know what their life (or their face) actually looks like.

But the thing is, it isn’t what we look like that counts.

It’s what we live like

and what we love like.

How are we showing up for those who are hungry?

Thirsty.

Cold.

Or sick.

Do we speak eloquent yet empty words at them?

Or do we weather the storm with them.

How are we showing up for those who are alone?

Scared.

Sad.

Grieving.

Do we back off and call it “giving them space” because we are uncomfortable with heavy emotions and not knowing what to do?

Or do we hold their hand

and find ways to let them know they can count on us.

How are we spending our time?

Our words.

Our resources.

Our gifts.

Our love.

Less important than how we show up with those who are winning,

is how we show up

for those

who need healing.
