We Are Worth The Wait

Life in my 30s:

These stills were from a portfolio video I was shooting just a couple of years before I met Kevin. We spent years getting to know each other and untangling our individual lives before finding ourselves in a space of freedom together (“freedom together” being key) so these reminded me of our early days of friendship building and foundation laying.

I am so grateful he hung around after I rejected his compliments and said to him, “if you want to compliment me, get to know me, and then if you want to compliment my insides, I’ll take those compliments” lol

I am so grateful he later thanked me for insisting we become friends and that he stuck around for it regardless of where he went.

I am so grateful for every step we took, all the “insides” we both shared, and every stage we went through -even the difficult ones- to get to where we are today.

May we all remember that being desired or complimented is not the same as being valued.

We can be both.

And we are worth the wait.
